WTUL News and Views interviews Aaron Viles on the RESTORE Act and the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force Strategy.

The Gulf Coast Task Force is an InterAgency group of State and Federal officials tasked to write a overall strategy. RESTORE Act, which is a piece of ecosystem restoration legislation that will not necessary fund ecosystem restoration. Is this balance of powers or a balance of personalities?

On the table is how to decipher all the different reports and what citizens should be doing to ensure that Gulf Coast residents can continue to reside on the shores of Gulf of Mexico post-BP. A Regional Citizens Advisory Council is discussed as a sorely needed independent monitoring arm that has a direct relationship with the oil industry.
